H. Lionel Ostrow (Chairman)
Harold Lionel Ostrow ("Lon") is the Chairman of Chartwell Business Advisors. He was an officer in the U.S. Army specializing in Intelligence. He recently retired from the National Guard at the rank of Brigadier General. He is a resident of New York City and active in various charities in the New York area. Mr. Ostrow was born in Canada and maintains Canadian and USA citizenship.
In the private sector Mr. Ostrow was Director of two publicly traded companies. He served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cycomm International and Cambridge Environmental Systems. Mr. Ostrow also served as the Chairman of Barbicon Capital, a Hong Kong based lender to specialty companies in the USA and Canada. He also was the Chairman of a New England based staffing agency.
Lon is a graduate of Washington & Jefferson College.
Adam R. Kidan (Managing Director)
Adam Kidan is a graduate of The George Washington University (1986) and Brooklyn Law School (1989) where he received the American Jurisprudence Award. Adam practiced law as a partner in Duncan, Fish, Bergson and Kidan, where the firm represented some of the largest staffing companies in the country. After leaving the practice to join a client, Mr. Kidan opened the 1-800-MATTRESS operation in the Washington D.C area. During his ownership of the mattress company, Adam also served as the co-chair of Greater DC Cares, Chair of the DC Chamber of Commerce PAC, co-chair of Mayor William's transition team, and on the boards of the Great Washington Urban League, the Washington Performing Arts Society and the Laurel Regional Hospital.
With his strong focus in staffing, then D.C. Mayor Williams appointed Adam to serve on the Workforce Investment Council. He was also a member of the Washington DC Economic Club and served on the Board of Directors of several companies. Mr. Kidan became a member of the Princeton Club of NY in 1991. Adam was also instrumental in the operations of a Massachusetts based staffing agency.
Adam has closed numerous transactions for both public and private companies in the staffing industry. He has also acted as the intermediary for a major league sports franchise and a well-known media company.
Betty C. Pickett (Managing Director)
Ms. Pickett has been involved in the employment services industry since early in her career In 2005, she launched a light industrial and clerical staffing company called Ready Staff, Inc.in metropolitan Atlanta. During the six years she owned Ready Staff, she increased revenues by more than 800% over the first year. During her tenure with Ready Staff, Ms. Pickett was named a "Rising Star" of the Atlanta's Women's Business Counsel and Ready Staff was named as one of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce's Small Businesses of the year in 2010. In 2011, Ms. Pickett contracted with Chartwell Business Advisors to find a buyer for Ready Staff. The period between the day Ms. Pickett signed the brokerage agreement and the sale of Ready Staff closed was 78 days.
Prior to launching Ready Staff, Ms. Pickett was a vice president of the managed services division of Spherion Corporation, a predecessor of Randstad Staffing.
Ms. Pickett has served on several boards of directors of non-profit agencies including The United Way of Atlanta's Allocations Board for the determination of funding for United Way agencies. Ms. Pickett graduated with a bachelor of music degree at Arizona State University.
